Anchorage: It is suggested that vessels anchor off the Port of Santo Domingo which is only four miles away. Anchorage at Rio Haina is considered unsafe and only to be used in case of emergency.

Pilotage procedures: Pilot and Harbormaster can be contacted by VHF Channel 16 or by radio on 2738Hz and 2638 MHz. Pilot boards approximately 1 mile from seabuoy.

Pilot station: 1 mile from seabuoy

Towage: 3 tugs – 950HP; 2,000 HP; 2,400 HP – Use of tugs is compulsory.

Regular working hours: 0800-1200 / 1300-1700 Monday through Friday. 0800-1200 Saturdays

Equipment: Fork-lift trucks of 2, 5 and 10 tons capacity. One rail-mounted crane at Fersan berth and two rail-mounted container gantry cranes at Berth No.6 east and 4 west, one mobile harbor crane, 35 ton. capacity container top loaders, hydraulic 5th wheel yard hustlers, container chassis, container tractor trailers, etc.

Storage: Open storage available. Covered storage for up to 150,000 tons sugar. Two sheds totaling 4,200 square meters at Berth No.2 (west) and 3,800 square meters CFS at Berth No.5 (west).

Water: Fresh water is available by pipeline and tank trucks.

Bunkers: Fuel and diesel oil available by tank truck (reservations necessary).

Medical facilities: Full facilities including hospitalization available in Santo Domingo.
